The evolution of consciousness is continuous, creative, and unpredictable; but in general one may see four layers of substructure for self-ectualization or enlightenment to occur: Cosmosgenesis is the elemental fiery, watery, airy and earthy eruptions, floods, earth-changes. Biogenesis is the bio-diversity of life systems that evolve in the elemental forms. Homogenesis is the emergence and impact of humans on the planet, and Spiritualgenesis implies a planet where people have chosen Love, Light, Life and Law and live in daily life awareness of interaction in harmony with the whole.

In the Gaia Matrix Oracle there are three levels of a fourfold system: the Spiritual, Human, Nature and Culture Worlds. The spiritual world is source, the human world is agent, the natural world is process and the cultural world is effect. The effect should always be regenerative and yield creative and unpredictable results; otherwise it is a dead-end.

SOURCE—seed AGENTS—water, sun, soil to sprout PROCESS—growth EFFECT—fruit
In our ordinary experience and observations, we can see that seeds, with their DNA in chromosomes are source; when planted in the AGENTS of soil, water and sun, they sprout; the process is the branching, leafing and growth of the plant; and the fruit is the effect. Even if there is no fruit, there is a proliferation of new seeds, so that the effect is always regenerative.
In Stream of Wisdom Institute we use a simple fourfold criterion of wholeness: source, agent, process and effect. This simplicity was pointed out by Jack Wilkinson at the University of Oregon in 1960.
We use it because it maps every problem and situation within our timespace universe. It does not map all issues of higher dimensions, which we also explore at Stream of Wisdom Institute in another way.
What is a source? It is a ‘seed,’ which may be a problem, a question, an idea. In any case, it is a code, a meaning on some level. I call it the thesis.
What is an agent? A means, some tool, technique or method by which the thesis can be analyzed. Analysis means taking apart, separation and also perception, a subject-object split.
What is a process? Play, exploration, growth, mapping, consolidation, integration, communication. The process is a synthesis of sorts, a way for the parts to come together again, but in a new way.
What then is the effect? In the Stream of Wisdom Institute, the effect is vitally important, not because we strive for effects, but because the authentic effect, the creative effect, is always something new, something beyond a combination or synthesis. I call it metathesis. I has meaning like the source did. You come to an ah-ha! Real creativity has an ah-h to it.
The CREATIVITY CYCLE:
For example, in creativity, the sourcing would be intuitive brain-storming, resourcing, researching. For source you need to open up, be receptive, play dumb, know nothing and yet reach for ideas. For sourcing you need to open your intuition, your capacity to pull in pre-ideas, those thoughts that may sound crazy, but are forces of real inspiration.
In the creativity cycle, receptivity and inspiration are the modalities for sourcing.
The agents in creativity are visualizations, activating imagination, new ways of perception, sketches, using tools and techniques. The agents involve perception, that is, changing how you see, hear, taste, feel to explore new or appropriate possibilities. You look at things from various points of view: an analysis.
In the creativity cycle, imagination is the modality for agenting
The processes in creativity are mapping, combining, integrating, exploring, and being playful. Here you take action and try out your ideas. You not only communicate, but take action in the world. The feedback you receive will unite you with your social and/or natural world and consolidate parts into a great whole: a synthesis. This phase is not longer inner but outer, no longer potential, but actual.
In the creativity cycle, action and manifestation are the modalities for processing.
The effects in creativity are surprise, paradox, synchronicity and serendipity. Again we come to meaning, but a meaning we don’t perhaps understand. Consequences of our actions are beyond what we expected. The actual has become a new potential. There is a new seed, a new idea that comes out of the metathesis. But instead of grasping it, we let it go into the whole. The idea is bigger than ourselves, bigger than we can hold onto.
In the creativity cycle, release is the modality for effecting.

With practice in equanimity amidst conflict, in using intuition as well as reason, in seeing the connections between various phenomena, we can create a sustainable and self-actualizing life-style.
